Terms of Service
Last updated: June 14, 2026
Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Civitas Electrical website and any electrical services we provide. By submitting a service request or engaging Civitas Electrical LLC ("Civitas," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms.
Estimates and pricing
Pricing ranges shown on this website are estimates only and intended for general budgeting. Final pricing is confirmed in a written estimate after a site evaluation. No work is performed until you approve the written estimate.
Estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Material costs, permit fees, and scope changes discovered on site may adjust the final invoice; we will notify you before performing additional work.
Scope of work
All work is performed under a written scope. Anything not listed in the approved estimate is considered additional work and requires a separate change order before execution.
Permits and code compliance
Where required by the City of Austin or other jurisdiction, Civitas pulls and manages the electrical permit. All work is performed to current National Electrical Code (NEC) and local amendments. Inspection coordination is included in permitted work.
Licensing and insurance
Civitas Electrical LLC is a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) licensed electrical contractor (TECL# 41490) and carries general liability insurance. Proof is available on request.
Warranty
Civitas warrants workmanship for one (1) year from the date of completion. Manufacturer warranties on installed equipment (chargers, breakers, panels, fixtures) pass through to the customer per the manufacturer's terms. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification by others, weather events, power surges, or normal wear.
Payment terms
Invoices are due upon completion unless other terms are agreed in writing. Larger projects may require a materials deposit. We accept ACH, check, and major credit cards. Past-due balances may accrue interest at the maximum rate allowed by Texas law.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment. Same-day cancellations may be subject to a trip fee.
Site access and safety
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the work area, including utility shutoffs where needed. Civitas reserves the right to pause work if site conditions are unsafe until conditions are corrected.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Texas law, Civitas's liability for any claim arising from work performed is limited to the amount paid for the specific work giving rise to the claim. Civitas is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Website use
Content on this website is provided for general information. It is not engineering advice for a specific installation. Always consult a licensed electrician for site-specific decisions.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site or our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
